My Chatbot History
A tool for exploring your AI chatbot use. Follow the instructions below to download your data from popular AI chatbot services. Then use this tool to visualize and analyze your conversation history. Toggle the visibility of individual conversations then save your session to file and load it later.
This tool was developed as part of the Swedish Research Council-funded project ‘Between Automation and Authorship: Generative AI and the Doing of Academic Writing’ at the Centre for Responsible Educational Technology at the University of Gothenburg.

Load Files or FoldersHow to download your data from different AI chatbots
Option 1: Official Export (Private Accounts)

Go to Settings.

Click the Data Controls menu.

Under Export Data click Export.

On the confirmation screen, click Confirm export.

You should receive an email with your data.

Click Download data export to download a .zip file.

Once downloaded, decompress the zip file.

Drag the resulting folder onto My Chatbot History.
Option 2: Chrome Extension (Corporate/Organizational Accounts)

Install the ChatGPT Backup extension from the Chrome Web Store.

Open ChatGPT in your browser.

Open the plugin and click on the Backup All Chats As: JSON button.

Drag the resulting JSON file onto My Chatbot History.
